Five Ways to Wear: a Little Black Dress!

First off, let me start this post by apologizing! I  know my pictures for the blog aren't great quality, but at the moment, I only have my camera phone. As soon as I get my tax refund though, I'm getting a better camera, so just bear with me!

I sometimes get in an outfit rut where I wear the same few outfits over and over because I'm not sure what else to do with my wardrobe, so I thought monthly "Five Ways to Wear" posts would help me, and any readers, figure out many ways to wear one piece. So, today I have my Little Black Dress. It's a classic. Mine is from Charlotte Russe originally, and is a very cotton-y fabric. I like to dress it up and down since it is my only LBD as of this moment. The dress itself is pretty shapeless, it does have tie backs, but they are in a awkward place on the dress, so I usually tuck them inside and use a belt or sweater. For all of the pictures, I have on the same jewelry: Left arm- Large pink cuff; Wal*Mart, Right arm- Gold bangles; Wal*Mart, Necklaces- Small gold chain and flower charm; hand me down, Long necklace: Crafted.

1. So, the first way is pretty simple, and great for warmer weather. I put it with a little white sweater/shrug (Sears), and some silver flats (Cato).

2. Outfit number two, some people may be concerned because of the brown/black combo, but I think it's acceptable in small doses. So, I paired the dress with some brown wedges I got from Cato. And to sort of unite the two colors, I put a leopard print belt around my waist that came from Wal*Mart.

3. The third way can be worn in any kind of weather. I have on my black cowgirl boots and off-white boyfriend style cardigan, both from Wal*Mart (there's a lot of Wal*Mart in this post...). For the warm weather we've had the past few days, I roll up my sleeves, but if it were cooler, I'd put on my gray leggings and pull the sleeves down.

4. This one is another warm weather wear, I actually utilized the tie backs that are attached to the dress, but I tied them in front under my bust for a faux empire waist, and then put it with my brown granny booties from Rue 21.

5. And last but not least, my personal favorite way to wear my LBD: with my plaid button down shirt (unbuttoned, Wal*Mart), my blue skinny belt (Sears), and my elf booties (Miley Cyrus brand). I've never actually worn this out somewhere, because I just thought of it, but now that I like how it looks, you can bet on me wearing it.

Go play dress up!

  2. I'm glad you like it! I literally did this in like half an hour, it was a very rushed post, lol. I wish I would have spent more time on it, but I liked the way it ended up. As I posted, I really loved the last picture, and I just thought of it on a whim. I have future posts like this coming soon! Stay tuned!
