My Sister's Bridal Shower

I realize I did not get to post my Thrifty Thursday, or Friday Favorites. Thursday I was at work. All. Day. Long. Friday, I was running around like a madwoman with my sister trying to get last minute things accomplished for my other sister's bridal shower that happened today, which meant three trips to Wal*Mart. Three trips doesn't sound like a lot, but people go to Wal*Mart aroung here for fun, so it is always busy and always tiring. Since I did not grace the blogging world with my presence on those two days, I will share some photos of what the bridal shower looked like. My sister LOVES St. Patrick's Day, so that was the theme. We wanted there to be hints of St. Patty's, without screaming it all over the place.

The bride to be!

Here are some of the decorations. Parties can be expensive, but with the decorations we scored. We got most of them from Dollar Tree where everything’s a dollar! We got a few veggie trays and chip/dip bowls at Wal*Mart for $1 each. A few things here and there we got at Michael's.

The food was the most expensive, but it was spectacular. Everyone in my family chipped in. My sister being the Maid of Honor and party host delegated tasks out to us all. I made a layered Greek dip (it was a hit! everyone loved it!), my mom made mini quiche muffins, my grandmother brought veggies and made egg salad sandwiches, my aunt made chicken salad sliders and cucumbers, my sister made cake balls and key lime pound cake, and our friend brought cookies, cupcakes, and made some of that sherbet punch.

What my dip looked like right after it was made, minus a few tastes.

My dip, almost completely gone.

All of the food.

Buffet style

My aunt's cucumbers. An idea she got from Pinterest where you use a melon baller to take out the middle of a thick slice of cucumber and put in your favorite dip and top with bacon bits!

Delphia's punch! It was delish!

All in all, it was a great shower and the happy couple got a lot of things for their new home and new life together. April 7th is the big day!
